Skiing in the French Pyrenees

Planning your ski holiday in France

A good ski holiday depends on choosing a good resort. A good resort is one that offers a variety of pistes - from green to black - good snowfall record, a real village with people living all year round in it, restaurants, cafés and night-life.

But above all a good resort must be easily accessible. And that's where the ski resorts in the French Pyrenees score over their alpine rivals.

Starting from London, Dublin or Bristol, you can be on the slopes in Ax-les-Thermes, St Lary or les Angles less than two hours after your plane touches down in France.

Your ski holiday in the French Pyrenees starts in one of these airports: Toulouse (easyJet, Jet2, BA, Flybe, BMI), Pau, Carcassonne, Biarritz, Perpignan and Girona (all served by Ryanair). Most of the Pyrenean ski resorts are 90 minutes from one of these airports.
